About me
and the blog
Amazilia Peacock – a nom de plume, and yes I am aware of the pun!
Having grown up in the North East of England, I moved to the South East to live and work for several years. A later move took me to Scandinavia.
Now, living in the North East once again, I’m exploring this corner of England and glad to have access to good transport links to the rest of Britain, Europe and further afield.
AP writes on the travel and dining blogs EatNorthEast and CapitalLetters. Some of the places reviewed on those sites will be reviewed again here on The Travelling Agoraphobic from the perspective of someone who faces the daily challenge of agoraphobia.
The expression “travelling agoraphobic” may seem a contradiction. An oxymoron. A paradox. This blog has been created in order to chronicle the experiences of one person who travels in spite of agoraphobia and the steps taken to make travel possible. I hope it may inspire others to consider flexing their own boundaries.
Comments, recommendations and suggestions from readers are welcomed.
